Chanese, Patrick, (Pop-pop, Uncle Pat, Patsy) Sr., 83 years old, passed away August 2, 2016 after an extended battle with cancer and a recent illness of pneumonia. Born Sept 17, 1932 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Pat was a carpenter, farmer, electrician, masonry, and inspector. He was in the Army and served two terms in the Korean War. Pat was retired from the ACUA and a member of the Local 172 Union. Pat passed away in Morgantown, WV where he lived with his granddaughter, Rachel Wasserman, who helped take care of him. During the last few years of his life, Pat retired and moved to West Virginia with his family and true love, Barbara (DeHaven) Chanese, where he owned a small farm. In lieu of a service and funeral, Pat donated his body to WVU School of Medicine for learning purposes. His ashes will be buried at Laurel Memorial Park in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Pat did not believe in viewings and funerals. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation towards the American Cancer Society.
